Learn Video Embedding Into Your WordPress Blog

WordPress and Video Embedding

This is a video lesson about how to first upload a video to youtube and then on Video Embedding into your own blogsite, it’s not as hard as you may think but as I always say “Do it once and your an expert” It really is that easy! You don’t have upload a video to place it into your own blog. The main thing is that the person who put the video on YouTube allows for embedding, which means that they have allowed for other folk to also use their clips in other websites! Basically you click on the share option under a YouTube Video and then further down there is a link for embedding which nine times out ten will show you a short line of code that you place the curser on and then click command and the A key at the same time, this will highlight the code and allow you copy and paste command and the C key at the same time will grab the code which you then paste into your post in the TEXT section, not the visual or it will not work. Just a line of code will show up instead of the desired video clip!

The video that will be included is designed to show you how to grab the file from your computer and then how to upload it onto YouTube which like the WordPress posting is not too hard once you have done it a few times, basically even after one attempt you will get the knack of it. It’s good fun to think you can share your own videos on the internet for all to see! Back the embedding, every now and then the embedding code has been disabled by the person posting the clip. There could be a number of reasons for this and it is their right. Maybe they had many bad comments last time they did it? Or maybe they consider their work needs to be protected by copyright? I have recently contacted a YouTube poster who has written in the video’s description that her work is copyright but yet she has left embedding open? I decided to leave a comment “can I use this video on Rod Dot Tv?”  I will have to wait and see if she replies, I would say it’s a fair bet that she is unaware of the Video Embedding disable option but it’s only manners to reach out before just using her clip since she has displayed a desire to keep it private! (It is an animation clip and very good) I can see how she would wish to protect her work. I also always credit the person who has uploaded the clip in my blog posts. Again it’s only manners and only takes a moment to include that information. Your blog readers may appreciate the information and chase down more videos that the person has done in the past and in the future. You also get to see how to add a custom image to your video upload …… perfect!  Video Embedding adds another exciting element to your blog!

Most video owners are quite flattered to think that someone will use their video and they leave the embedding option ‘Open’ So other folk can use their videos, pretty cool eh! In fact most of the videos on this site are third party videos and it is a great study resource for this site. It is now even easier to insert videos, it used to be that you would cut and paste a long line of Html code into your WordPress post but those days are gone and it is the iframe short code that has become the standard.

The iframe is a short code within the Html code (Hyper Text Mark Up Language) Mark up language is a term used in the print industry. Kinda means editing. So have a look at the video and then try it for your self, do it once and be an expert!
